It's only been a few days now but I have realised learning how to be a good girlfriend is not going to be easy for me.
I don't really want to dedicate all my time to one person. And I'm rubbish at introductions and new situations and working out how to handle balancing friends/ boyfriend blah blah.

We went on a trip to Manchester today and him being him it involved the necessary amount of ducking and diving (he was especially pleased I skipped the ticket collector at the train station). We also went to a restaurant, ordered drinks, decided we didn't want to be there and left without paying. Only to find he'd left his prada reading glasses on the table (f-in idiot) so he had to run back in again and somehow get away without getting in trouble. I told him that was karma and he didn't look best pleased ha!

But then he gave me his nice boxfresh hoody to keep for the easter holidays and I forgave him again. There's a nice little story. I don't know where it's going really. We're a strange couple ( Manchester scally, posh girl ha). I'm not sure if it will work but at least I'm giving it a try this time.

Looking back, the Oscar gowns of 08 were all so safe and uninspired I couldn't even be bothered to write a blog about them. Overall thoughts? Helen Mirren is a milf. And Heidi Klum pulled off her swishy Galliano red gown. Penelope Cruz worked the Spanish senorita look a treat. And Rosamund Pike looked great in lemon yellow Rolan Mouret. But overall, I don't like using this word, but it was all rather 'meh'.

Oh god she's hot.

Very Northern view from my bedroom window here.

I went to a rave party this weekend in a house that used to be an ice cream parlour. The actual rave took place in the old fridge room, super duper.

I looked a bit too much like I'd had a fight in a glitter factory.

But it was excellent fun.

boiler suits, neon paper, face paint, no cliches there then.

I want to see pictures of the oscar gowns!

The other week i was in the library all night researching a project about 1930s fashion. And we have this amazing static shelving unit in the library that you swizzle round to get to an archive of Vogues dating back to 1939. I can't believe we're trusted to just read them when they are so fragile and precious to be honest. I came across this amazing feature & photoshoot in an issue of Vogue from May 1939 that I wanted to share. It's such advanced fashion photography for nearly 70 years ago- it's the first underwater fashion shoot ever. And the writing is so good, almost like poetry. Amazing.

Apparently an Italien collector going by the name of Elio Ferraro is to set up a pop-up store in Selfridges selling vintage designer clothing with a hand-selected collection including a Gucci crocodile skin handbag once used by Audrey Hepburn.

Which is all very good and well until you learn that said handbag will set you back two and half grand and a Chanel vintage pearl belt from the store costs 850 quid. It's all a cheap publicity stunt.

It just makes me think, what's the point, the whole point of buying vintage to me is acquiring quality clothing at a lower cost price to me. So when it costs quite so much the whole appeal of vintage seems to be lost on me. It's just a ploy to make rich Selfridges shoppers feel 'unique' and 'original' trying to hop on the vintage bandwagon. All it is really is a vintage rip-off.

Subject:Baftas 2008
Time:01:10 pm

Awards ceremony fashion around this time of year always gets me excited- the Golden Globes were cancelled due to the writers strike in the US so the Baftas is the first awards ceremony hence the stars pulling out all the stops.

As a rule the Baftas are a little more casual than the Oscars but this year didn't dissapoint. Keira Knightly & Marion Cottilard (who I have never heard of before?) looked the best in my opinion- both in delicate shades matched with very feminine dresses.

BAFTAS 2008 - ON THE RED CARPET BAFTAS 2008 - ON THE RED CARPET

I guess Marion's is quite 'out there' but she looks so cute & feminine she pulls it off. And their natural curls and delicate complexions are so pretty- makes you realise just how fug fake tan is.

Btw, I have to fashion blog for my course so I am doing it here until I get something set up and atm I am too fucking stupid to work out how to use another site. xx

How can I be nosy when no-one is willing to share the share the most intimate details of their lives..? Bum.

Nature is magnifique!

And on to me.
I am good, if anyone does read this ever. Although I may not be by the time you read this, because you may check it in a month's time and then who knows what could have happened in Huddersfield the epicentre of the earth.!

2nd year is weird, there's no replacement for d-bar, so some people have just magically dissapeared from my day to day existance whilst others are slowly fading.

The course is good, I've been going to lots of motivational placement talks with speakers from various companies like Next/ Moda in Pelle etc, and I've come to two conclusions

1. I NEED work experience
2. I want to be a buyer and a freelance journalist on the side

But let's see what comes of these sudden ambitions eh. I live with two boys who like to drink, burp and 'tap' girls but other than that we are a happy flat and have spent the evening watching films and playing Monopoly.I am trying to have a dalliance with another boy, if this one fails I marry Katrina. Although I think this boy has just fallen asleep whilst texting me, bum. Although he text me first, so haha to him. Last sentence was ironic I think. I have joined the gym and do approx 90 lengths of the pool a week and feel very much invigorated by this sudden change of heart. My final conclusion is that this summer was wonderful, I look back and despite the rain and tedious hours spent forcing 'skin smoother' on the fat ladies of Debenhams I feel content. Let's make Christmas AS good. xx

If you are young, hip and gorgeous then there is only one trend for you to follow this season: Modern gothic.

Trust me and follow the example set by Chloe above and buy a shoe boot or cut back on the fake tan in exchange for a death-like palour.

Grazia likes to call it 'Nu-grave'. But that's a bit cringey.

It's sweltering outside today, but autumn/ winter 2007 is looming and surely the best catwalk of the season is Oliver Theysken's first show at Nina Ricci

It's all too amazing, the setting (the tuileries garden in Paris, that can be seen at the end of the catwalk through the midst of the dry ice), the hair design (each model had feathers custom dyed and sewn one by one into their hair to reach the desired effect) and of course the clothes, in innovative shades of concrete and chartreuse.

High fashion at its best

My final night of sleep at Storthes was terrible, disturbed, hazy, stoned and above all, tinged with sadness.

After 9 months of perfect sleep in the perfect bed in the perfect scenario, it was inevitable.

I like Hobnob creams, I like them alot, I eat three packets a week- you should try them!!!

Lyn dyed my hair plum coloured this week, it's subtle and nice- I'll upload a picture in a minute I want opinions!!

I've been sleeping till 3pm every day it's an awful habit I must kick this week since I only have two weeks left in my beloved flat of north springs. I have watched the whole tv series of Pride and Predjudice it is so good- Jennifer Earle plays Elizabeth perfectly, she is my ultimate female role model.

I am bored of boys they screw me over, ultimately all I want to do is have fun, just lots and lots of stupid fun with my friends. I did my first karaoke this week- Tainted Love with Kat..we've been informed it was pretty shocking so we're doing it again next week too haha.

Some of h3 came to Huddersfield for less than 24hrs but I had a lovely time, I apologise for my Nigel's flatmate ANT pleasuring that guy on the dancefloor it was a treat for you all I imagine!!

Finally..orbs in the abandoned mental instituition..I think so..

On sunday night we re-explored the old mental instituition buildings and found a caged treatment room with wires aplenty. Tonight Lyn and me prank called boys and played a clip of father Jack shouting 'shut the feck up!' down the phone to them. I love every moment here. It's going to cut me up when I have to leave North Spring B flat 6.

I have had a lovely time at home so far, highlights include meeting Alex Elkin, Adele's rollercoaster birthday with the red dress and watching my mother do all my washing instead of me for once (I'm a bitch). I've slept a great deal and looked at baby photos with me and my sister in them. I've had my first proper conversation with her for once in a while and I am happy Ashley made her Valentines day nice. I've done a spot of work, a little bit of eating and I've watched TV with my dad which I always enjoy. And this is the view of the snow from my bedroom window exactly one week ago which I think was rather lovely, even if it did send all the boys at Storthes mad and prompt them to throw snowballs in every open window (my bedroom window!) and make a huge snowball half the size of me which was then rolled against my block door so we were trapped in. Hilarious.
